STRANGEBIRD STORY

Strangebird, located in a restored streamliner in Savannah’s Victorian District, is a neighborhood restaurant that serves casual plates with a Mexican flair. Initially launched in a 1967 Airstream Ambassador as a food truck in 2019 by the team behind FARM Bluffton, Strangebird’s devoted following led to its brick-and-mortar debut in July 2023.

Helmed by Chefs Daniel “Nilo” Aranza and Felipe Vera, longtime members of the FARM Hospitality culinary team, Strangebird offers flavorful dishes from its in-house smoker, including Smokehouse Tacos with nixtamalized tortillas, shareables like Georgia Shrimp Agua Chile, handhelds like Burritos and Birria Burgers, and elevated sides like Refried Butterbeans and Crispy Rice Salad.

The beverage menu at Strangebird has something for anyone, from unique by-the-glass wines from Mexico to frozé for hot summer days and creative non-alcoholic mocktails.

Chefs Daniel and Felipe bring a lighthearted and playful approach to the menu, offering a fresh take on what a neighborhood restaurant means for Savannahians, from nearby college students to longtime residents and tourists. Strangebird is open for lunch and dinner Thursday to Monday from 11am to 9 pm.
